FIG Living's Tote Table Lamp brings paper craftsmanship into everyday lighting
As the W16 era draws to a close, Bugatti continues to explore craftsmanship beyond performance. The W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel is a one-off commission that replaces conventional luxury finishes with something rarely associated with automotive design - porcelain.
Created through Bugatti's Sur Mesure programme in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM), the roadster treats porcelain as an integral design material rather than a decorative accent. The project brings together two disciplines that demand precision, one built around engineering and the other around centuries-old ceramic craftsmanship.
The exterior is finished in a porcelain white paint, overlaid with hand-painted black lines that reference the digital wireframe models used during the vehicle's development. Instead of disguising the car's form, the graphics reveal its surfaces and proportions, making the design process itself part of the final object.
Inside, the collaboration becomes more tangible. Handcrafted porcelain appears on the gear selector, centre console, window controls, speaker grilles and the iconic "Dancing Elephant" sculpture. Each component is individually produced by KPM, requiring the material to withstand the demands of an automotive interior while maintaining the precision expected from fine porcelain.

Beneath the bespoke craftsmanship remains the W16 Mistral's familiar engineering. The 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 delivers 1,600 PS, making Blanc Éternel not only a collector's piece but also one of the final expressions of Bugatti's sixteen-cylinder legacy.
Rather than celebrating performance figures alone, the W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel demonstrates how materials traditionally found in galleries and workshops can become part of automotive design. It is a reminder that for Bugatti, craftsmanship has always carried as much importance as speed.
