The Vande Bharat project represents a turning point in India’s railway design story, blending cultural identity, advanced technology, and global design sensibility. Designed by Kinet Railway Solutions under the leadership of Evgeny Maslov, the new Vande Bharat expresses the nation’s forward momentum through its form, color, and detail.

Kinet approached the project with a deep respect for India’s character while applying global industrial design thinking. The goal was to create a train that feels modern and premium, yet emotionally rooted in the Indian context.

Form with Motion and Meaning

The design of the new Vande Bharat is defined by flowing surfaces and dynamic proportions. The front mask features horizontal DNA lines that symbolize a star in motion, a visual metaphor for speed, continuity, and progress. These lines extend along the body, uniting the design through motion and balance.

Lighting plays a central role in defining identity. Inspired by Indian jewelry craftsmanship, the light signatures combine precision and ornamentation, blending tradition with modern detailing. The result is a train that feels alive and expressive without excess.

Color as Emotion

The color palette of silver, deep black, and orange was carefully selected to represent innovation, warmth, and optimism. Silver and black reflect precision and technological depth, while orange adds a sense of human energy, a nod to India’s creativity and confidence in the future.

Designer’s Perspective

Chief Industrial Designer Evgeny Maslov explains the design philosophy behind the project:

“We experiment with attention to detail, just like in the automotive industry. For us, the front mask is both a physical and cultural embodiment of the new Vande Bharat identity.”

He adds:

“As we dove deeper into the project, we understood that in India, a train’s mask is more than just its look. It is the face of the service, a symbol of trust and connection. That is why we wanted our train to have a lively, vibrant, and colorful character.”

Design Language that Transcends Boundaries

Kinet believes that design language is universal, capable of crossing borders and connecting cultures. The Vande Bharat reflects this belief by translating India’s identity into a global design form. It stands not only as a product of engineering excellence but also as an object of cultural expression and the spirit of Make in India through design.

Toward the Future of Travel

With this project, Kinet Railway Solutions has helped redefine what Indian trains can represent. The new Vande Bharat blends aesthetics, ergonomics, and emotion, marking a step toward a future where India’s public transport systems carry both technological confidence and cultural resonance.
