SAIC, through its Roewe brand, presented the Pearl concept at the Shanghai Auto Show. Positioned as a super electric sedan, Pearl blends luxury with purity. It is not just a show car but a design manifesto that sets the tone for Roewe’s ambition to step into the premium segment.

Exterior Design: Elegance with Modern Precision

The Pearl presents a clean and commanding silhouette that avoids unnecessary ornamentation. At the front, the car abandons the traditional grille and introduces a seamless fascia with a continuous LED light band and an illuminated Roewe logo. This design creates a futuristic identity while maintaining restraint. The side profile further highlights the character of the vehicle. The design of the Pearl carries the signature of Jozef Kabaň, the former Rolls Royce design chief who also created the Bugatti Veyron. His arrival at SAIC in 2024 signaled a clear intention to push Roewe toward a premium identity. With Pearl, he combines European heritage with Chinese ambition, producing a car that is both aspirational and culturally relevant. More than a stylistic exercise, the Pearl demonstrates a design direction that will influence Roewe’s entire lineup in the coming years.
