Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette has unveiled the X-47 Crossover, a machine it claims is the world’s first motorcycle to feature radar and camera integration as standard. Positioned as a multi-utility electric crossover, the X-47 marks a significant leap in rider safety, technology and performance for the Indian market.
A New Benchmark in Rider Safety
At the heart of the X-47 is Ultraviolette’s proprietary UV HyperSense system. It pairs sixth-generation long-range radar technology with the motorcycle’s vehicle control unit to deliver advanced rider assistance features. These include blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, overtake alerts and rear collision warnings. The system integrates seamlessly with specially designed HyperSense mirrors and hazard light controls to enhance rider awareness in critical moments.
This makes the X-47 the first commercially available motorcycle to combine radar and camera-based safety technology, bringing two-wheeler rider aids closer to the standards already established in the automotive world.
Designed for Versatility
Built on Ultraviolette’s modular EV platform, the X-47 has been engineered for both city use and long-distance travel. Its upright ergonomics, 200 mm of ground clearance and aviation-inspired design allow it to adapt to varied riding conditions.
Power comes from a 10.3 kWh battery pack paired with a 30 kW motor producing 40 hp and 100 Nm of torque. The result is a claimed 0–60 km/h time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 145 km/h. Range is quoted at up to 323 km (IDC cycle).
The X-47 uses Brembo brakes with a 320 mm front disc and Bosch’s latest dual-channel ABS, complemented by traction control and stability features. Suspension is handled by 41 mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock, both preload adjustable. Riders can switch between Glide, Combat and Ballistic modes to tune the bike’s behaviour for urban, mixed or high-performance riding.
Charging Innovation
Ultraviolette has also developed what it calls the world’s most power-dense air-cooled onboard charger. Designed in-house, it supports both AC car charging (Type 2) and DC fast charging (Type 6). An industry-first “parallel boost charging” feature allows the onboard charger to work in tandem with an external unit, effectively halving charge times.
Integrated Dashcam and Storage
Adding to its safety credentials, the X-47 comes with front and rear 1080p dashcams, a secondary 5-inch display for playback and recording features such as automatic crash capture and theft protection. Storage solutions include soft and hard panniers along with provision for a top box, underlining the bike’s positioning as a crossover.
Pricing and Availability
The Ultraviolette X-47 is priced from ₹2,49,000 (introductory, first 1,000 customers). Bookings are open now, with deliveries in India beginning October 2025 and global sales expected in 2026.
Setting a Global Standard
Ultraviolette co-founder and CEO Narayan Subramaniam describes the X-47 as a “fusion of cutting-edge technology, advanced safety systems and precision engineering.” The launch positions the company not only as a leader in India’s growing EV sector but also as a challenger on the global stage.
By integrating radar intelligence, aviation-inspired design and modular EV technology, the X-47 may well set a template for the future of electric motorcycles.
