Bugatti W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel reimagines the hypercar through porcelain

Bugatti has unveiled the W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel, a one-off roadster created through its Sur Mesure programme in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM). The project integrates handcrafted porcelain into both the exterior and interior, from bespoke trim pieces to the iconic Dancing Elephant sculpture. Finished in porcelain white with hand-painted graphics inspired by digital wireframe models, the car pairs traditional craftsmanship with the 1,600 PS quad-turbocharged W16 engine, celebrating one of the final chapters of Bugatti's legendary powertrain.

Greaves Electric Mobility Designing India’s Electric Future | Shashwath Bolar
What does "Designed in India" mean for mobility today? In this conversation, Shashwath Bolar, Head of Design at Greaves Electric Mobility, shares the thinking behind Ampere's evolving design language and the principles shaping products such as the Ampere Nexus, Magnus Grand, and Xpress. From proportions, surfaces, CMF, and ergonomics to balancing engineering constraints with design ambition, he discusses how Indian design heritage, global perspectives, and everyday user needs come together to create mobility products that are practical, distinctive, and relevant for a new generation.
The 2026 Design Weeks Index
The global design calendar is more than a schedule of exhibitions. It reflects where ideas are introduced, conversations begin, and the future of design takes shape. From established events in Europe to rapidly growing platforms across Asia and the Middle East, each design week brings together designers, brands, educators, researchers, and industry leaders. These gatherings showcase new products, emerging talent, and experimental thinking while creating opportunities for collaboration across disciplines. Together, they reveal how design is exhibited, discussed, and distributed, shaping the global creative landscape year after year.
1983 Suzuki Alto 800 / Maruti 800
Introduced in 1982 and launched in India as the Maruti 800 in 1983, the Suzuki Alto 800 transformed personal mobility. Its compact, boxy design prioritised space, visibility and practicality over ornamentation. Lightweight engineering and an efficient 796 cc engine made it affordable, reliable and economical to own. More than just a small car, it became the first car for millions of families across Asia. Its clean hatchback proportions established a new benchmark for entry-level automotive design. The Alto 800 proved that simple, functional design could also carry aspiration and identity. Its influence continues to be seen in compact cars decades later.

Info
Design shapes nearly every object, system, and experience we interact with. Yet much of the work that defines our built world is never properly documented, discussed, or preserved. Countless concepts, prototypes, graduation projects, and independent ideas disappear long before they can influence the next generation.
NIWWRD was founded to change that.
We are an independent platform dedicated to industrial, automotive, and future design. Our purpose is to build one of the world's most comprehensive records of contemporary design while creating opportunities for the people behind it.
We believe that good design should not be measured only by commercial success. Many of the most important ideas begin as student projects, experimental research, speculative concepts, or independent explorations. They deserve the same level of documentation and critical attention as products that reach the market.
For us, publishing is only the beginning. Every feature contributes to a growing body of knowledge that designers, students, educators, researchers, and companies can learn from. Every project becomes part of a larger conversation about how design evolves across generations.
Magazine
We publish stories, projects, interviews, reviews, and insights from the world of industrial, automotive, and future design. Our goal is to give meaningful design work the attention it deserves.
Design Archive
The archive serves as a permanent record of contemporary design. It documents projects from students, professionals, studios, and companies, ensuring important work remains accessible long after it is published.
Academy
NIWWRD Academy offers workshops, courses, and mentorship programs for students and professionals looking to build stronger design skills, portfolios, and careers.
